Dread the Rabbit
A downloadable game for Windows
The King of Dread, that is what they knew you as. High and mighty in castle Bloodburg as you ruled the realms just and fair. However, not all inhabitants of the lands agreed with your reign. One night, the captain of the Wolf Knights, Rorick, enacted his plan to overthrow you. He succeeded in destroying your body and though that has perished forever, your spirit still lives on. With a plan for revenge you have fled into into the wastelands in search for a new vessel to house your soul.
Dread the Rabbit is a turn based roguelike game with randomly generated maps and permanent death. Journey across seven environments to reclaim your throne. Unlock long forgotten magic stored in the relics of Ancients. Earn boons from the gods and empower yourself at their altars.

game overall was a firm tough luck-punishing loop through the levels as you navigate. for me, im starting to see a vague pattern that the difficulty towards mid-level of moonlit rogue/third area spiked too sharp for the past hours ive been trying to pass it, even more since this heavily relied on rng (that wasn’t really forgiving on me many times out of the few really rare results i was lucky enough just around the earlier levels despite replayability). based on that, i dont think this may pass up as roguelite because every death just reset progress clean with any skills and items all gone from the beginning compared to roguelike which i think fit better to define this game. but aside from that! loved the retro pixel graphics and that detail on title screen for starting or exiting with defeat encounters.
theres 7 areas.. though right now i cant imagine surviving that long as it may get harder-leap of difficulty just to retry from the very beginning, there could be some progress/elements to be carried along as accommodation ahead, not sure yet. um, prob will try to replay it again and leaving it to my future self in hopes of kinder luck to get through this skill issue haha.
edit: finally got to the fourth area/skull plains i think, barely scraped by the first stage with my already low health and resources though. edit2: got to stage 3 of skull plains…. there were many annoying frog wizards…
Hey what Version of RPGmaker sid you use for this?
Hey. It's RPG Maker 2003, the version that is available on steam. No mods or patches anything, just the vanilla version.
So do you mean RPG Maker VX Ace? Are you're other 3 games also RPG Maker of the same version?
Nah, I mean the one called Rpg Maker 2003, this one. And yeah, all my rpg maker games is made in that one.
wizards enymy is to hard
this is really good
I feel like i can play this game for hours
Game is glitched for me :/ everytime I try to play it just thinks I'm holding the up arrow key so I can't press anything and when I open the menu by pressing "Esc" it just keeps scrolling up through the menu and I can't close it, having to close the game. Not sure if it is on my side since I tried to test if I was having the same glitch on other games and just on notepad itself.
Really like the art and the idea and kinda bummed about the glitch. :(
Hey, sorry to hear. I know rpg maker 2003 can have some issues with keyboard input not working on windows 10. But haven't heard of that one before. You could try this fix https://steamcommunity.com/app/362870/discussions/0/541907867763056737/ and see if it works for you.
I love this kind of games. Here's my video.
This game is amazing. I love the retro feeling. It makes me feel like playing on a gba or gbc. This is definitely well made giving the player the choice to quickly get to the next level or clear the enemies to get a reward. This gameplay mechanic is really interesting and one that I have not exposed myself to alot. A really great game and ill rate this a rabbit/10
Great game. Love the retro visuals.
